The IIS now offer the facility for members to move to an inactive member status and get a reduced rate on membership fees while not working in survey/GI industry.

CONDITIONS OF INACTIVE STATUS (25% of current membership category)
1. Inactive status is only available to members with genuine reasons of inactivity (e.g.
work sabbatical, temporarily working outside the survey/GI industry, etc.)
2. Inactive members will not be assigned a membership card and will thus not be able to
avail of any IIS discounts
3. The member shall not use the IIS membership title for any purpose (e.g. MIS, FIS)
4. The newsletter will only be provided in electronic format on provision of a valid email
address
5. For attendance at any CPD events full non-member fees will apply
6. All outstanding membership fees must be paid in full before members are eligible to
apply for inactive status
7. Payment must be made by Cheque, Postal Order or Electronic Transfer
8. This application is valid for 2011 only
9. The decision of council to approve or reject the application is final
10. Any abuse of inactive status will result in removal of your name from the membership
register of the IIS
